How beautifully put…Shakespeare did have a way with words, didn’t he?… Today’s Monday Musing is inspired by Katti and Björn who live in Hannover in Germany. At the time this beautiful picture was taken they had just welcomed their second child Bent into the world. We spent a morning together with the baby and their […]

You’ll notice the posts have waned in the last few days….that’s because I’m winding down here in Berlin. The last jobs have been completed, and I’m now in packing and saying good-bye mode. This trip has been ah-mazing and I can’t believe how the time has flown.  I gave myself the task of shooting and […]

Dear Beth!
As you know, I’ve been enjoying your “My Berlin” stories and photos a lot. So I feel kind of sad you’re leaving, but I am hoping for some cool, Melbourne stuff in the future.
And btw – Split is a BEAUTIFUL city. And Croatia in general is great. You have to check out some small, nearby villages. If you get the chance, head south to Makarska Riviera! So worth it. The mountains get higher there and the view from the higway… Oh, incredible! Steep slopes merging with perfectly blue water…

All the best!

Beth Jennings - August 23, 2012 - 2:26 am

Hi Sara, from Canberra! thank you so much for the advice on Split – it was as you said, beautiful, loved it. Berlin was great, and I’m so glad you enjoyed reading all the posts. Maybe you’ll get to live there yourself one day soon. keep in touch, keep reading and keep inspired! love, B

Berlin is full of modern day ruins. Where many cities bull dozed old buildings to make way for the new, in some cases in Berlin that just didn’t happen. Namely because there was no money to knock down and start again. So now the city is an ecclectic mix of old, new and everything in […]

Brilliant pictures and an extremely inspiring place. My fav one: the one with an armchair. If I were to shoot a movie, it would be there.

Beth Jennings - July 26, 2012 - 1:45 pm

Totally, Sara it would make an amazing place for a movie for sure.

This week I was asked back by Sarah Wiener and her crew at Wiener Brot bäckerei to shoot some product images for them. A couple of weeks ago I captured the opening of their shopfront Wiener Brot and I also went to the off-site bakery to capture some of the action there.  They looked at […]

Day trips out of Berlin are a must here.  There is Wannsee to the west and then there is Müggelsee to the east. I went with my group in the Müggelsee direction to Köpernick.  Köpernick is a little old town situated on an island where the rivers Dahme and Spree converge.  Further upstream and you […]

Berlin has been unbelievably good to me.  In my Berlin Portrait series I captured fleeting moments in time in the loungerooms, bedrooms and kitchens of six amazing ladies. They willingly gave me their time and space to make a record of who they are at this moment in their lives. Kerstin is my final Berlin […]

A glorious afternoon/late evening was spent this week with my group at Viktoria Park in Kreuzberg. It’s one of the higher places in Berlin so once you’re up there you get a great view over the city. It’s been raining a lot here, so we felt rather blessed that the heavens behaved.  Another great evening […]

A little bit of bloggy love from my niece Lauren and my nephew Angus today. We had a skype chat – their mum, my sister Heather, perhaps made the potentially fatal error of not pre-warning them at 5:30 in the afternoon that TV was going off and a chat with Beth over in Germany was […]

I love the pictures and the story!

Thank you Sara!!! xx

One of the first people I met last year in Berlin was Mala. She runs Mala’s Playhaus and I ended up sharing some time with her during a class and capturing all the details in her brand story.  You can see it all over here, it’s a gorgeous result and lovely to see after all […]

Beautiful pictures, Beth :-) Never heard of the playhouse, but as I am having a baby soon as well, your thoughts stand to venture into new areas. I reckon kids learn here early to have self-confidence, show their emotions and stand up in front of others without fear. Cool idea.

Beth Jennings - July 26, 2012 - 1:47 pm

Yeah Mala’s got it going on Kersin, for sure. She’s amazing.

A visit to Cafe CK – what a great way to kick off a Monday morning here in Berlin. Co-owned by Cory Andreen, recent winner of the 2012 World Cup Tasters Championship, and Kerstin Winkelbauer, Cafe CK is a delight to walk into. A little retro hint here and there, lots of space and a […]
