‘Tis the season to be jolly. Yesterday I hit the highway and drove all day north to Forster, New South Wales. There’s something indescribably fabulous about driving to your Christmas holiday destination…there are more cars on the road than usual, everyone is driving just a bit faster than they should, and many cars are packed to the brim with Christmas presents, pillows, camping gear and surf boards. It’s like there’s a united front on the road, we’re all busting to get where we’re going and to get that holiday started. The cities empty out and the coastal towns like Forster fill up. You get out of the car and that beautiful salty air hits you in the nostrils. Coming from land-locked Canberra, that’s the best smell in the world. Love it.
Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year!!!!
