on Manual in Melbourne: Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

I’ve been running my photo group The Melbourne Walk and Shoot Group over the summer. At the events I’ve found people want to ask me tecchie questions but it’s quite hard to give proper attention to that as the outings are usually about 40 people a time. So I decided to set up some dedicated events called ‘on Manual in Melbourne’, with all the details below… it’s a bit exciting! The first one went live 2 days ago and there are 3 places left for the coming up on Sunday. If you’re keen to grab a spot, you can here.

What is ‘on Manual in Melbourne?’

It’s a bit tecchi, a bit creative, 2 hours, 8 people max, exploring awesome and inspiring places around Melbourne with your DSLR camera. It’s designed to get all your niggling photo questions answered hands-on with a real live human that lives and breathes photography every day (that’s me…)

Who’s it for?

If you have a digital SLR camera that has full manual mode and you’re currently using semi or full auto modes, but you’d like to get your head around manual shooting, then this is for you.

What to bring?

Your DSLR camera with fully charged battery
Empty memory card
Your camera’s manual in your back pocket (we may need it to look up specific settings for you)
Your questions
Your creativity and passion for photography

Who is Beth exactly?

Glad you asked! I’m a practising professional photographer that specialses in storytelling using available light. I hold a BA (Commercial Art) Photography degree from RMIT, I’m an Associate with the AIPP, and I have 3 years experience in running full-day camera mechanics workshops.

What’s it cost?

$29 to kick it off as this is the first one. The groups are limited to 8 so to be fair to the group this fee is non-refundable, non-transferrable and payable at signup.

Why now?

I’ve been running photo-wandering events in Melbourne as well as with a similar group overseas and members often want to ask me specific questions. In the large groups it’s impossible to get stuck in, so I decided to set up dedicated events.

See you Sunday!

Beth
